Moscow, May 29 (IANS). National Security Advisor Ajit Doval visited Russia’s national space station in Moscow on Friday. During this time, Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov was also present with him. NSA Doval also interacted live with the Russian crew on the International Space Station (ISS) at the space center named after the world’s first female cosmonaut Vera Tereshkova.
According to Russia’s government space agency Roscosmos, NSA Doval and Manturov visited the space technology exhibition, which included models of the world’s most powerful four-chamber liquid rocket engine and the base module of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS).
Roscosmos said, “Representatives from both countries then visited the Roscosmos Joint Industrial Information Center (JIIC). It was created to monitor and analyze big data related to the rocket and space industry. It will also serve the management of future ROS.”
NSA Doval and Manturov then spoke live to the Russian ISS crew, Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, Andrey Fedyaev and Sergei Mikayev. The cosmonauts talk about their spacewalk on May 27.
Videos of NSA Doval taking a close look at the official car of Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin also went viral on social media. Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go into space in 1961.
NSA Doval and Manturov also held a meeting on India-Russia space cooperation during their visit to the space centre.
The National Security Advisor is traveling to Moscow to attend the two-day first International Security Forum and the 14th meeting of the High Representatives for Security Affairs, hosted by Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
Addressing a meeting of NSA and security chiefs of several countries on Thursday, Doval said there can be no double standards in the fight against terrorism and responsible countries will have to evaluate their decisions to decide whether they support sponsors of terrorism or counter them with decisive action.
He also called for special attention to the situation in West Asia and said that it is necessary to ensure safe and unhindered movement of trade through international waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.

NSA Doval also met Shoigu during the forum on Thursday. “They reviewed the ongoing cooperation in defence, security, energy and economic relations. Both sides also shared their views on the BRICS NSA meeting to be held in New Delhi,” the Indian Embassy said.
