New Delhi, November 10 (IANS). While giving information on Monday, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that he chaired the CEO Roundtable on Ease of Doing Business in Data Center and Artificial Intelligence Sector.

“I chaired a detailed discussion at the CEO Roundtable on Ease of Doing Business in the Data Center and Artificial Intelligence (AI) sectors,” the Union Minister wrote in a post on social media platform X.

Giving information about this discussion, he said, “The focus of our discussion was to strengthen the policy ecosystem, regulatory process and digital infrastructure to promote investment in next generation technology.”

According to Union Minister Goyal, the meeting emphasized the Centre’s vision of making India a global nerve center in data-driven innovation and AI excellence.

He said that in this meeting, emphasis was laid on the commitment to become a future-ready, knowledge-based digital economy under the vision of a developed India by 2047.

In this series, the first Google AI Hub is going to be built in Visakhapatnam. According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, the hub brings together gigawatt-scale compute capacity, a new International Subsea Gateway, and large-scale energy infrastructure. Through this, Google will bring its industry-leading technology to enterprises and users in India, which will accelerate AI innovation.

According to PM Modi, this multi-faceted investment, which includes gigawatt-scale data center infrastructure, is in line with the vision of creating a developed India. This will be a powerful medium in taking technology to everyone. This will ensure ‘AI for all’, provide citizens with the latest tools, boost the digital economy and strengthen India’s position as a global technology leader.

According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, this investment of approximately $15 billion over 2026-2030 is Google’s largest investment in India so far. The objective of this investment is to accelerate the expansion of AI-powered services.
