People's trust on Bhim app increased, monthly transactions increased by 300 percent in 2025.

New Delhi, January 22 (IANS). People’s trust in the government payment app BHIM is increasing rapidly and the monthly transactions on this app have seen a strong growth of 300 percent in 2025.

Data released by NPCI BHIM Services Limited said that the number of monthly transactions on BHIM app has increased to 165.1 million in December 2025, which was 38.97 million in January 2025.

An average increase of 14 percent is seen in transactions on monthly basis on BHIM app in 2025.

Along with the increase in transaction volume, there was also a huge jump in the value of transactions. The value of transactions in December 2025 exceeded Rs 20,854 crore.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of transactions increased by nearly 390 percent, while the value of transactions increased by more than 120 percent.

This shows that users are increasingly using BHIM not only for small daily payments but also for high value transactions.

Delhi emerges as one of the major markets for BHIM Payments app in 2025. This increase in national capital was mainly due to frequent transactions through small amounts.

Peer-to-peer payments accounted for 28 percent of total transactions, followed by grocery shopping at 18 percent.

Fast food outlets contributed 7 percent, restaurants 6 percent, telecom services 4 percent, service stations 3 percent and online marketplaces 2 percent.

The reason for the rapid increase in popularity of BHIM app is the simple interface of the app and the cashback given by APCI to the users.

Commenting on the demonstration, Lalita Nataraj, Managing Director and CEO, NPCI BHIM Services Limited, said that the BHIM Payments App has been designed to provide secure, convenient and accessible digital payments to all, even in areas with low internet connectivity.
