New Delhi, November 1 (IANS). With the beginning of the new month, the rules regarding Aadhaar Card, the government document related to the identity of Indian citizens, have also changed. With the new change in the rules, now the Aadhar card holder will not need to go to the Aadhar card center for any change in the Aadhar card.
According to the Unique Identification Authority of India, to make the process easy and convenient for the users, now the demographic information of the Aadhaar card holder can be updated online. Aadhaar card holders will now be able to update information like name, address, death of birth and mobile number online.
Additionally, Aadhaar cardholders will be required to link their PAN card with Aadhaar before December 31, 2025.
According to the information given on the official website of UIDAI, Rs 125 will have to be paid as fee for biometric update of fingerprint and photo. However, if the age of the Aadhar card holder is 5-7 years and this update is being done for the first time then the service will be free. Similarly, cardholders aged 15-17 years will not have to make any payment even if they get updated twice.
Apart from this, if the cardholder gets the demographic update done regarding enrollment number, gender, date of birth, address, mobile and email address, then it will be free along with biometric update and if done separately, Rs 75 will have to be paid as fee.
Aadhaar cardholder can submit proof of identity and address or documents for name, gender and DOB on the Aadhaar portal without any fee. However, this facility will remain free only till June 14, 2026.
Now Rs 40 will have to be paid as fee to get Aadhaar reprinted. Apart from this, the charge for home enrollment service for the first applicant for Aadhaar card will be Rs 700. For other persons at the same address, the charge will be Rs 350 per person.
