Samsung reveals new Exynos chipset for Galaxy S26

Seoul, December 19 (IANS). Samsung on Friday announced its new mobile processor Exynos 2600. It is believed that this processor will be used in the upcoming flagship phone Galaxy S26 smartphone.

South Korean tech giant Samsung said in a post on its website that the Exynos 2600 is the world’s first processor built with 2-nanometer gate-all-around (GAA) technology. This makes the chip faster, more powerful and less energy consuming. The company said that this chip has just started being manufactured on a large scale (mass production).

In this new processor, CPU, GPU and NPU have been combined into a single small chip, due to which the phone’s speed, AI features and gaming experience become better than before.

According to Samsung, the new Exynos 2600 is 39 percent faster in CPU compared to the older Exynos 2500. At the same time, it performs 113 percent better in AI related tasks. With this, AI photo editing, smart assistant and other AI features in the phone will work faster.

This new processor also has the facility of better graphics, which will make the gaming experience better. Samsung says that both graphics and AI will be smoother and faster than before.

Samsung said that the Galaxy S26 smartphone will be launched in the US in February. Earlier, the company had also shared a video named “The Next Exynos” on YouTube, in which the Exynos 2600 was shown.

According to industry sources, commercial production of this processor started last month and it is the first application processor (AP) made with 2-nanometer technology.

The Exynos 2600 will also perform better than other larger processors like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. In this, the capacity of AI is said to be about 30 percent more and the power of graphics is said to be about 29 percent more.
