Forces around the world are using AI to improve their weapons and campaigns. The latest example of this is the Iran-Israel War in June. Israel also used AI-operated weapons to attack Iran. However, China’s warning points to a major threat. China has warned that artificial intelligence (AI) may enable terrorists to develop capable weapons in global destruction such as nuclear missiles.
Information can reach terrorist organizations
In a new AI Safety Administration document released on Monday, cyber security officials have clearly stated that if AI is not controlled, dangerous information related to nuclear, biological, chemical and missile weapons can reach both citizens and terrorist organizations.
There is a serious threat around the world
According to China, the fear is that AI’s recovery-enhanced production technology, which extracts huge amounts of information from the Internet and database and then produces reactions, can easily provide anyone access to the principle and design of arms manufacturing. China says that if this happens, the existing security systems will become ineffective, which will pose a serious threat to global peace and security. The document is an update of last year’s global AI Governance initiative, which was jointly developed by China’s National Cyber Security Standards Technical Committee and National Computer Network Emergency Team.
China has released warnings before
In the 2024 framework, China described AI’s double -used technology as dangerous – that is technology that can be used for both regular functions and weapons. In the new version, the weapons of collective destruction are clearly mentioned in the new version. Not only weapons, China also said in this report that people may feel addicted to AI chatbots, and it will also affect education and innovation.
