The amazing arts and growing strength of the country show that we are moving fast on the path of 'developed India': Piyush Goyal


New Delhi, November 19 (IANS). Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, while visiting the Defense Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair on Thursday, said that the country is fast moving on the path of ‘Developed India’.

Speaking to news agency IANS, he said, “These amazing arts and growing strength of India show that the country is moving rapidly towards a developed India by 2047 under the leadership of PM Modi.”

Speaking to the media, Union Minister Goyal said, “It is a matter of great pride for all of us that today India is becoming self-reliant in the defense sector. Defense weapons are being made in India. I thank the work of our capable officers, engineers, scientists and innovators.”

He further said that under the leadership of PM Modi, in 10 years, India has become a defense equipment exporter instead of a defense equipment importer. I congratulate PM Modi for this.

Regarding the youth, he said, “Our skilled youth should move towards new innovations. India should be ready to make more and more weapons. The more our scientists and innovators take interest in research and development, the more powerful and secure it will make the country.”

Recently, Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth and Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasad had inaugurated the dedicated pavilion set up by the Department of Defense Production in the 44th India International Trade Fair.

According to the Defense Ministry, a total of 16 Defense Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and cutting-edge defense startups associated with the ‘Innovation for Defense Excellence (IDEX)’ program are showcasing their capabilities in this pavilion.

The DDP Pavilion showcases the growing capability, technological innovation and self-reliance of India’s defense manufacturing ecosystem. The exhibition is showcasing state-of-the-art defense products, advanced technologies and innovative solutions in land systems, naval platforms, aerospace and emerging technology domains.
