New Delhi, January 12 (IANS). Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) will be on a visit to Israel from 13 to 15 January. An official statement on Monday said the visit underlines the growing strategic and economic ties between India and Israel.
The statement said that Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh will participate in the ‘Second Global Summit on Blue Food Security: See the Future’ at the invitation of Israel’s Agriculture and Food Security Minister Avi Dichter.
This visit is expected to further strengthen the old partnership between India and Israel. Besides, cooperation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture will increase and new opportunities related to mutual interests will also open.
According to the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, the visit shows that both the countries are committed to further deepening mutual cooperation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.
Apart from participating in the ‘See the Future Summit’, Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh will also hold separate bilateral meetings with Israel’s Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter and ministers of other countries attending the summit.
The ministry said that in these meetings, special attention will be paid to strengthening policy coordination and institutional partnerships, promoting sustainable fisheries management and modern aquaculture technologies, advancing research, training and innovation, increasing trade and investment through better market access and standards, joint research in advanced aquaculture and environmental protection, climate resilience and food security.
Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh will also meet the CEOs of leading Israeli companies and startups, which are working in the fields of agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture.
Under this programme, the Minister will also visit leading institutions and innovation centers where he will get to know about Israel’s modern and advanced technologies in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.
