Nagpur, 6 February (IANS). Jeet Adani, director, Adani Defense and Aerospace, said on Friday that Vidarbha has an important role in India’s energy story and the Adani Group’s presence in Vidarbha is not limited to just transactions, but it is going to last for generations.
Addressing ‘Advantage Vidarbha 2026’ here, Jeet Adani said Adani Group is here to build energy security, create high quality jobs, empower communities and strengthen India’s economic foundation.
Jeet Adani, also director at Adani Airports, said, “Our investments here are in line with three national priorities, which include empowering India’s clean and reliable energy future, developing an integrated industrial and logistics ecosystem and enabling inclusive growth for communities and youth.”
Addressing the gathering, he said, “At Tirora we operate Maharashtra’s largest and state-of-the-art 3,300 MW supercritical power plant, built as per the highest global standards of efficiency and environmental responsibility. In 2025, we revived the 600 MW Butibori power plant, reflecting our commitment towards resolution of stressed assets and strengthening India’s power infrastructure.”
Jeet Adani further said that through the 25-year supply agreement, we are now ensuring 6,600 MW of reliable power supply to Maharashtra with a combination of solar generation from Khavda and strong thermal baseload supply. “It is the backbone supporting Maharashtra’s industries, its cities and its digital economy.”
Additionally, one of the most transformative commitments is the Rs 70,000 crore Integrated Coal Gasification and Downstream Derivatives Complex at Linga, Kalmeshwar.
The project will create 30,000 direct jobs, create advanced chemical manufacturing capabilities, promote energy self-reliance for critical industries and firmly place Nagpur on the global map of clean energy technologies.
He further added, “In the aviation and defense sector, our acquisition of Indamar Technics Pvt Ltd has expanded our 30-acre MRO complex at MIHAN. With 15 aircraft bays, FAA and DGCA certification and integration with Air Works’ global network, Nagpur is fast emerging as an international hub for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul.”
Adani Foundation in Gondia and Nagpur is supporting primary health care, education and women empowerment through 43 self-help groups, Fortune Suposhan nutrition program and solar lighting, clean water, sports and school development initiatives.
Jeet Adani said, “I consider Vidarbha not just a region of Maharashtra, but a region that will help define India’s growth story in the coming decades.”
