In the last few months, reports of sorting from many big companies around the world are coming out. From Amazon to Microsoft, TCS and Intel have trimmed hundreds of employees. The main reason for this is being told to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Meanwhile, Walmart CEO Dag McMillan has also warned that AI will eliminate many jobs and will make the workforce a new look. This is a reality that Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, is also ready to face it. Dag McMillan says AI will undoubtedly change every job.
Changes will be more than expectations
At a workforce conference in Bentonville, Arkansas, CEO Dug McMillan clearly stated, “In the future, Artificial Intelligence will affect every aspect of the work.” He said, “It is absolutely clear that AI will really replace every job. There is hardly any job in the world to replace AI.”
His statement clearly shows that adopting AI will change more than our expectations in the labor market. A report from the Wall Street Journal states that companies like Ford to JP Morgan Czech and Amazon have released similar warnings about its growing influence on jobs.
Some people will be fired, some will be hired
Walmart, the world’s largest employer with 21 lakh employees, has said that its number of employees will remain the same in the next three years, but many jobs will be over due to changes in some work methods. Warehouse automation, AI-in-operated chatbott and back-store automation are already ending jobs. Other roles like stocking and customer service are also on the verge of change.
However, some new jobs will also be revealed, such as Walmart has recently launched a “agent builder”, in which employees have been tasked with making AI equipment for businesses. Home delivery, more people can be appointed directly associated with bakery and customers. Walmart’s Chief Public Officer, Donna Morris, says the exact structure of jobs is not yet decided.
Work will not be the same in two years
According to OpenAI chief economist Ronnie Chatterjee, “AI is expected to adopt AI fast in the next 18 to 36 months. All employees just have to adopt it, learn skills and leave risks behind.” The CEO of AI has also said that you will not do the same thing in the next two years, so enjoy this moment.
