Whenever she has to go to a function or a special occasion, the first complaint of every woman is that she does not have anything special or new to wear. Open your wardrobe and find lots of sarees, but there is always confusion about which saree will suit the occasion and whether it will look good. However, AI has now found a solution to this problem. With the help of AI, you can find the design of your choice in just a few moments. This will tailor the design, color and occasion to you. Let us explain how AI will make this easier and how weavers will benefit from it.
AI Impact Summit 2026 is taking place at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi. This event will run from February 16 to 20, 2026. It is considered one of the largest technology events in the world. Leaders from all over the world, CEOs of big companies, startups and researchers are participating in this summit. In this regard, Tata has introduced BRIDGITL, an AI-powered platform designed to empower traditional weavers. Weaving is a skill that takes precision, time and a lot of hard work. From designing patterns to creating detailed templates, the process is long and difficult, but BRIDGITL is changing that.
This AI platform simplifies the massive work traditionally required of a weaver. This helps in creating design templates, reduces manual calculations, and speeds up the entire creative process. What previously took days to draft by hand can now be structured, enhanced, and visualized much faster with AI. Its purpose is not to replace the weavers, but to strengthen them.
How will sarees be made with AI?
Arpita, present at the AI Impact Summit, gave detailed information about this. He told that till now, the practice was that you just mentioned the saree of your choice, and the matching saree was made. But today, AI has completely changed this technology. First of all, we ask for which occasion you want the saree. Then AI selects different sarees on the basis of religion, country and place. Then you decide which saree you want to wear. Then work starts on the saree of your choice.
Actually, Tata Group company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched a new AI-based platform named Brigital. Its aim is to digitize traditional handloom weaving, make it easier and faster and connect weavers directly with customers. This platform has replaced the old “design-weave-sell” approach. In this, customers can create or change the design of their choice using VR (Virtual Reality). Then the weaver makes cloth according to that design.
