Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday. It is reported that after this Hooda had also reached to meet senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. Now there is speculation that Azad may soon hold a meeting with Sonia Gandhi. On Wednesday itself, a meeting of the leaders of the G-23 group was held at Azad’s residence, in which the matter of collective leadership was raised.
According to the PTI report, Hooda also met Azad at his residence after meeting Rahul Gandhi. During this, discussions were held between the two senior leaders of the party to strengthen the Congress and ensure collective leadership. The report quoted sources as saying that Congress leader Anand Sharma had also reached the residence of Azad, who attended the meeting.
Azad, Kapil Sibal, Anand Sharma, Manish Tewari, Shashi Tharoor, Shankar Singh Vaghela, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Sandeep Dixit, Vivek Tankha, Prithviraj Chavan, Raj Babbar, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Rajendra Kaur Bhattal, in the G-23 meeting held on Wednesday. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kuldeep Sharma and AM Khan were present.
A meeting of the Congress Working Committee was held on Sunday, in which Sonia Gandhi offered to resign. Since then a war of words started between the Congress leaders. The special thing is that in the assembly elections held in five states, the performance of Congress was very poor. The party lost the government in Punjab. At the same time, Goa failed to form the government in Uttarakhand. The party was expected to perform well in both the states.
