Dearness allowance case stuck for one and a half year reached PM Modi
A good news is coming for the central employees before Diwali. Now the hope of getting dearness allowance stuck for one and a half year seems to be coming true. According to the information, the matter of pending dues for 18 months has reached PM Narendra Modi.
According to reports, PM Modi can find a solution at the earliest, after which central employees can get 18 months of invested dearness allowance till Diwali. The Indian Pensioners’ Forum has appealed to PM Modi to clear the arrears of dearness allowance and dearness relief to central employees and pensioners. The forum has written a letter to PM Modi asking him to help in the matter. The Department of Expenditure, which comes under the Ministry of Finance, said in the office memorandum that the DA to the central government employees will be increased to 28 percent from the existing 17 percent of the basic salary. In April last year, the Finance Ministry had stopped the hike in inflationary allowance (DA) till June 30, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The DA rate was 17 per cent from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
Let us tell you that the Secretary (Staff Side) of the National Council of JCM Shiv Gopal Mishra said that the arrears of one and a half years have not been given yet. Talks are going on with the government in this regard. He said that in view of the demand of the workers, the government is expected to pay the dues. Such an easy way will be taken out so that government and central employees can be helped.
Significantly, the Modi government has increased the dearness allowance of central government employees by 28 percent from July 1. The Union Cabinet on July 1 had approved an 11 per cent hike in inflation allowance (DA) and inflation relief (DR) for central government employees and pensioners. As a result more than 48 lakh central government employees and 65 lakh pensioners were benefitted. Now the new rate of DA has increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent.
