Delhi MCD Election 2022: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big attack on the postponement of the dates for the civic elections in Delhi. Kejriwal said that why is the Election Commission bowing under pressure? Modi ji won’t even conduct elections in this country now? It is believed that the central government is contemplating to unite the three municipal bodies.
The date for the municipal elections to be held in the capital Delhi could not be announced today, whereas, in the meeting of the Election Commission last day, it was decided that the dates would be announced today. Now on the postponement of the dates, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given a big statement. Attacking the BJP government at the Centre, Kejriwal tweeted, “Can the central government give “directions” to any election commission to postpone or cancel an election? Under what provision? Are these “guidelines” on the election commission? Is it binding? Why is the Election Commission bowing under pressure? Modi ji won’t even conduct elections in this country now?”
Let us inform that earlier on Wednesday, Election Commissioner SK Srivastava said that at 4:30 pm, some instructions have come from the central government, due to which the dates cannot be announced today. He said that no one has asked us to postpone the MCD elections, but according to the latest development that has taken place, it will take 5 to 7 days to reduce the new dates after considering it. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, a meeting was held with the officials of the Commission, in which it was decided to announce the date of the election today.
