Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pune Metro Rail Project on Sunday. PM Modi also traveled in Metro from Garware College to Anand Nagar after buying a ticket. During this, he was seen talking to the school children sitting in the metro.
According to the release, the Pune Metro Rail Project is an endeavor to provide world class infrastructure for movement in the city of Pune. Of the total 32.2 km long Pune Metro Rail project, a 12-km stretch was inaugurated. The foundation stone of the metro project was laid by Modi on 24 December 2016. The entire metro project is being built at a cost of over Rs 11,400 crore.
PM unveils statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Prime Minister Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Pune Municipal Corporation premises on Sunday itself. In this regard, an official said that this statue is made of 1,850 kg ‘gunmetal’ and its length is about 9.5 feet. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Pune Metro Rail Project during his visit to Pune.
