Qatar Airways’ QR579 flight had to make an emergency landing in Karachi, Pakistan due to a technical snag. This flight was going from Delhi to Doha, in which more than 100 passengers were on board. Qatar Airways said smoke was detected from the cargo hold during the flight, which led to a declaration of emergency. The flight made an emergency landing in Karachi and all the passengers were ejected safely.
Qatar Airways said the airline said the incident was currently being investigated. Relief flights will be arranged to take the passengers to Doha. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passengers. All passengers will be assisted in their onward travel plans,” Airways said in a statement.
