BJP MP Sanghamitra, who gave the slogan of ‘Abki Baar Swami Prasad’ just before the election, has now given a clarification after the defeat of the father. Sanghamitra said that as a daughter, it was my responsibility to stand by the father. Sanghamitra also said that he had not leveled any allegation against the BJP.
Just before the UP assembly elections, Swami Prasad Maurya had joined the SP by resigning from the post of cabinet minister. SP had fielded him from Fazilganj seat. Before voting on March 3, there was a clash between SP-BJP workers in Fazilganj.
Swami Prasad had accused it of assault on himself. During this time, BJP MP daughter Sanghamitra Maurya of Swami Prasad Maurya had openly come in his support. Sanghamitra had appealed to the women of Fazilnagar to vote for their father, accusing the BJP workers of besieging him. He had also raised the slogan of Swami Prasad in front of the media.
The decision of Swami Prasad to join the SP was not liked by the people of Fazilganj and they had to face defeat. After the defeat of his father, Sanghamitra said that Sanghamitra said that the decision of the people is the biggest. It is possible that my father did not live up to the expectations of the people.
Sanghamitra said that I never campaigned for my father. He also said that if I campaigned, I should be shown proof. Regarding the incident of that day, Sanghamitra said that when I came out in support of my father, everyone has seen what happened. Everyone has seen what I said and did, under what circumstances. As a daughter, it was my responsibility to stand by my father.
Sanghamitra said that I have not leveled any allegation on BJP. I was only accusing those in the party who were defending the whole matter and defaming our work.
