A new player has entered the electric scooter segment. Well-known automobile company Yamaha has launched a new electric scooter Yamaha Neo’s while increasing the range of its EV. The company is offering a top speed of 40kmph and a range of up to 68km (with optional battery) in this new scooter. The company is also offering smartphone compatibility in this scooter.
What is the cost of e-scooter
Yamaha has launched this new electric scooter in the European market. Its price is 3005 Euro (about Rs 2.52 lakh). This is about Rs 33,200 cheaper than the price of Yamaha NMax 125. Its sale in the European market will start in May. This new electric scooter from the company is an eco-friendly version of the popular 50 cc petrol engine Neo’s of the 90s.
Twin headlights give a great look
Talking about the design, it has been given twin headlight. The e-scooter comes with a curvy yet compact design. To make the scooter look more luxurious, rubber moldings have been given on the sides of the bodyworks. This molding works to protect the scooter from minor scratches. The company is offering DC hub motor in the e-scooter. This motor churns out 2.06kW of power in standard mode and has a top speed of 40kmph. In Eco mode, it generates a top speed of 35kmph and 1.58kW of power. The range of the electric scooter in this mode remains up to 38.5 km.

Range up to 68kms with optional battery
With the help of an optional battery pack, its range can be increased to 68km. The lithium battery found in the scooter weighs 8 kg and is removable. It takes about 8 hours for this battery to be fully charged at the domestic charging point.
The scooter comes with smartphone compatibility
The special thing about the scooter is that it has an LCD instrument cluster with smartphone compatibility. Along with battery status, it also gives information about route tracking, calls and messages. The scooter has 13 inch alloy wheels. In this, the company is offering KYB telescopic fork and single rear shock absorber.
