Misleading claims were also spread rapidly on social media regarding the performance of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). Some Pakistan-based propaganda social media accounts claimed that the Indian Army was deployed to control the protesters in New Delhi and that the Army used weapons against the protesters, resulting in several deaths and a large number of injuries. Some videos and pictures are also being shared with these claims to make people believe that the army is taking action in the capital.
However, Indian Army Fact Check, the official fact-check platform of the Indian Army, has termed these claims as completely false and misleading. The Army clarified that such posts are being circulated with the aim of spreading confusion and fear among the people. These have no relation to the real situation. According to Fact-Check, the responsibility of controlling the ongoing protests in New Delhi rests with Delhi Police and other designated law and order agencies. Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel are deployed along with Delhi Police at the protest sites. The Indian Army has not been deployed anywhere for protest management nor has the Army taken any action against the protesters.

Let us tell you that social activist Sonam Wangchuk announced on Monday that he will continue his indefinite hunger strike. He said that he had to take this decision due to the police action against the protesters during CJP’s Parliament Chalo march. They will continue the fast until the youth leaders are allowed to meet the MPs or are allowed to do so from the hospital themselves. In a handwritten statement issued from Safdarjung Hospital, Wangchuk said, ‘In view of the brutality being meted out to the youth who are protesting peacefully, I have decided to continue my fast until the youth leaders are allowed to meet the MPs in Parliament House or I am allowed to meet them here in the hospital. It is expected that the government will fix the accountability of the Education Minister before that.
