I was dancing in a show at the Taj Hotel, a friend of mine was dancing there, so he took me along for the fun (and so did I),” he added, “Then it became Rs 750 for Campa Cola (a soft drink) and I used to get Rs 105 for the longest lasting brand. Then I got Rs 31,000 for ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, which later increased to Rs 75,000.”

Salman debuted in Bollywood with a supporting role in the 1988 film ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’, but he got success in 1989 with Sooraj Barjatya’s film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, which started his illustrious career. During the shooting of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, his starting salary was only Rs 31,000.
