What did the US administration say on this matter
Apart from US Vice President JD Vance, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also gave important information on this topic. He said during a briefing at the Pentagon that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured and it appeared that his face or body was disfigured. He said the reason for this was that on Thursday, Mojtaba had given his first public statement as Supreme Leader only in written form which was read by a TV presenter. No audio or video was released with his statement. At the same time, US President Donald Trump also clearly said in an interview that he believes that Iran’s new leader has suffered huge losses but he is probably still alive in some form or the other.
Iran confirmed the injured and America’s new announcement
Initially many Iranian officials had claimed that their leaders were completely safe. But later Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that Mojtaba was injured in the February 28 airstrike. This was the same attack in which his father died, after which on March 8, 56-year-old Mojtaba was made the new Supreme Leader of Iran. Along with this, the US State Department has also offered a reward of 10 million dollars for providing concrete information about Mojtaba Khamenei and other senior IRGC officials. America is continuously taking heavy military action against Tehran under Operation Epic Fury and there is a possibility of more attacks in the coming days.
