Security forces have taken major action against terrorists in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. On Monday, the army killed 22 more terrorists in an operation. With this, the total number of terrorists killed in the last few days has reached 177. This action is being taken in response to the recent attacks which have shaken the entire area.
Demand for investigation raised in Parliament
The upper house of Pakistan’s Parliament has strongly condemned the recent attacks. Parliament has demanded that security lapses should be investigated in a transparent manner. The opposition has called it a major failure of the security system. It is noteworthy that over the weekend, BLA had attacked many places, in which 31 civilians and 17 security personnel were killed. After this, the army has taken this strict step.
Ministers gave information
Senior ministers of the government have given their views on this operation:
Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed the killing of 22 more terrorists and said that the terrorists will be eliminated. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that security forces are still engaged in ‘mopping-up’ operation. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti is continuously giving information about the situation and casualties. Opposition alliance TTAP has criticized the government, calling it a ‘security failure’.
