A drone attack by Iran was carried out in Kuwait City on Saturday evening, causing heavy damage to the main premises of the ministries. Kuwait’s Finance Ministry has confirmed that no one was injured in the attack but buildings were extensively damaged. Keeping security in mind, the administration has taken precautionary measures and new rules have been issued for Sunday to ensure the safety of the employees.

The building on the main campus of the ministries has been heavily vandalized and physical damage is extensive. A fire broke out due to the drone falling near the Oil Corporation and the Oil Ministry in Shuwaikh area, which was immediately extinguished. The Kuwaiti Army has shot down 8 ballistic missiles and 19 drones that had entered Kuwait’s airspace in the last 24 hours. The Army has clarified that the sounds of the explosions are coming due to the air defense system destroying enemy missiles in the air.
New instructions issued for employees and general public
An order has been given for all the employees working in the Ministry premises to do remote work i.e. work from home on Sunday 5 April 2026. Apart from this, no visitors or general public will be allowed to come to the premises tomorrow and their work has been postponed. Expatriates and locals living in Kuwait have been advised to stay in safe places as air raid sirens have been sounded several times in the last few hours.
