‘Brahmins’ are making profiteering at the cost of Indian public: Navaro targeted

Taking a dig at India for the purchase of oil from Russia, Peter Navarro, the business advisor of the US President’s official residence and office ‘White House’, said that “Brahmins” are making profits at the cost of the Indian public and need to “stop”.

Navaro said in an interview with ‘Fox News Sunday’, “Look (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi is a great leader.”

He said that Modi is the leader of the world’s largest democratic country and “he does not understand how the Indian leader is cooperating with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Chinfing.”

Navaro said, “So I would just like to say that, please understand what is happening here. You have Brahmins who are making profiteering at the cost of Indian people. We need to stop it. ”

The US President Donald Trump has been continuously targeting India for the last few days after the fall in relations between Washington and New Delhi over the policies of Donald Trump on the Navaro trade and tariffs.

Trump has imposed an additional 25 percent fee for the purchase of 25 percent mutual fee and Russian oil on India.

India has described the fees levied on it as “unfair and discretionary”.

Navarro was questioned about the purchase of Russian oil by China. He was also asked a question about whether implementing additional fees on India is sufficient to “forced” to “kneel”.

To this, he said, “Well, clearly, we have now imposed a 50 percent fee on India, but China also has a little more than 50 percent fee. So the question is, how much do you really want to impose a fee without harming yourself? ”

Navaro said that in February 2022, India did not buy Russian oil before Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and he was very small, very small.

He said, “What happened then?” Well, Russian refiners connivated with large oil companies in India. Putin gives Modi a discount on crude oil. They modify it and then sell Europe, Africa and Asia at high prices and they earn a lot of money. ”

Navaro said, “Now, what is wrong in that scenario?” He said that it gives the Russian war machine “fuel” and India has become only oil money laundering center for Kremlin.

Defending its purchase of Russian crude oil, India says that its energy purchase is inspired by national interest and market conditions.

Russia has become India’s top energy supplier ever since the Western countries have banned Russian crude oil after the attack on Ukraine.

Navaro had earlier described the Ukraine struggle as “the war of Modi” and said that “the path of peace” passes partially “through New Delhi”.
