Date of Ramadan 2026 announced in UAE, know when the fasting will start

Important information has come to light regarding the date of Ramadan 2026 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the Astronomy Center and official reports, this time the holy month of Ramadan is expected to start from Thursday, February 19, 2026. This date is being considered fixed on the basis of moon sighting conditions and scientific calculations.

Probability and date of moon sighting

Reports suggest that sighting of the moon on February 17 is not scientifically possible. For this reason, Ramadan will start in Gulf countries from 19th February. At the same time, in North America, the Fiqh Council, based on its calculations, has considered Wednesday, February 18, as the first day of Ramadan. There is a possibility of the moon being visible in India and its surrounding areas on the evening of 18th February, due to which fasting can start there from 19th February.

Fasting time and date of Eid

For those living in UAE, the fasting time will initially be approximately 12 hours 46 minutes. As the month progresses, this time will increase to 13 hours 25 minutes. Apart from this, the date of Eid al-Fitr, celebrated at the end of Ramadan, is expected to be Friday, March 20, 2026.
