A big relief news has come to the fore for UAE residents stranded in Russia. Recently an Emirates flight returned from Moscow to Dubai which was almost empty. This flight was run for those people who were stranded there due to the closure of the airfield for the last few days. According to reports, only those passengers who had special approval or pre-confirmed booking were allowed to board this flight.

Flight status and ticket prices
Air routes were closed from 28 February due to regional tensions. Now Emirates and Etihad have started limited flights to bring back the stranded people. Normally the fare from Moscow to Dubai is around 810 AED, but now it has increased to 1,600 to 5,000 AED.
According to the latest information, normal commercial flights are likely to remain closed till March 7, 2026. It is expected that services will become completely normal from March 8. Those who are coming through third countries, they have to pay very high fares.
Exemption from hotel expenses and visa rules
The Dubai government has taken a big step to help the stranded passengers. The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Dubai Tourism have directed that the government of the country will bear the expenses of accommodation and food for the stranded passengers. Hotels have been given strict instructions not to evict any guest, even if their payment is due.
Apart from this, major relief has also been given to the people in visa rules:
Residents who have been out of the country for more than 180 days can get re-entry permits by paying 100 AED. Emirates has advised that passengers should go to the airport only after receiving confirmation. The Russian Consulate is also helping its 20,000 citizens who are stranded in the UAE.
