Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday made a big and relief announcement for the Gulf countries. He clearly said that Iran will no longer attack its neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf countries with missiles or drones. This statement is considered very important amid the atmosphere of war that has been going on for the last one week, especially for the millions of Indians who live in these countries and were worried about their security.
What condition has Iran set to stop the attacks?
The Iranian government has also attached a strict condition to stop the attacks. The President said that this peace will last only if the neighboring countries do not allow America or Israel to use their land or military bases to attack Iran.
President Pezeshkian apologized for the previous attacks, calling them an initial “misunderstanding”. Now Iran’s army has been given strict orders (Official Directive) not to fire on the neighbors unless there is an attack from there. This decision has been taken by the “Temporary Leadership Council”, which is taking command after the Supreme Leader.
What effect will this have on flights and common people?
Due to the war, air travel in the Gulf countries had become very difficult in the last few days. Big airlines like Emirates and Saudia had canceled many flights, due to which Indians and travelers living there were quite upset.
After this statement of Iran, it is expected that the operation of flights will gradually become normal. However, oil prices are still skyrocketing as tensions near the Strait of Hormuz have not completely subsided.
Ground situation and America’s warning
Despite appeals for peace, the ground reality is still tense. According to reports, explosions were heard near Dubai Airport and Manama in the last 24 hours and Saudi Arabia destroyed a missile in the air over Riyadh.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has refused to accept Iran’s conditions and has warned that he will hit Iran even harder. Therefore, people living in Gulf countries are still being advised to remain alert.
