Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared American and Israeli universities in West Asia as ‘legitimate targets’. This statement was issued on Sunday, March 29, 2026. The IRGC says the move was taken in retaliation for attacks on Iran’s own universities, such as Tehran’s University of Science and Technology. IRGC gave ultimatum to America and what is their demand?
The IRGC issued an official statement giving the US until noon on Monday, March 30. They demand that US officials officially condemn the bomb attacks on Iranian universities. If this is not done by 12 noon on Monday, the IRGC has threatened to attack regional educational institutions. Iran claims that America and Israel are together trying to weaken Iran’s scientific and cultural foundation.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bakai has also expressed his views on this matter. He said that universities in Tehran and Isfahan have been deliberately targeted in the last 30 days. Iran has made it clear that this threat will remain until the damage to its universities is avenged.
