A news report by the London-based Financial Times has revealed a long-term plan hatched by Israeli spy agencies that led to the targeted assassinations of Iran’s former supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei and members of Iran’s top military leadership.
The Financial Times, citing multiple sources, reported that Israel spent years hacking Tehran’s traffic cameras and gaining access to mobile phone networks to monitor the movements of Khamenei and his guards. Nearly all of Tehran’s traffic cameras were hacked over the years, and the footage was encrypted and sent to servers. This hack helped Israeli and US forces pinpoint Khamenei’s whereabouts, resulting in his killing in a targeted strike.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified the attacks on Iran. In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu said that the Islamic regime is determined to destroy America.
He said, “Iran has been shouting slogans of ‘Down with America’ for 47 years. They bombed your embassies. They twice attempted to assassinate US President Donald Trump. They murdered their own people, massacred countless people. And they spread a web of terror across the world. This is a regime that is determined to destroy the United States.”
US Vice President JD Vance told Fox News that President Donald Trump wanted to ensure that Iran could never acquire a nuclear weapon.
Vance told Fox News, “What the President decided was that he didn’t just want to keep the country safe from Iranian nuclear weapons for the first three-four years of his second term. He wanted to make sure that Iran could never acquire a nuclear weapon, and that required a fundamental change in the mindset of the Iranian regime. So he saw that the Iranian regime was weakened, he knew they were on the verge of acquiring a nuclear weapon, and he decided to take action because he felt that the nation’s This was necessary for safety.”
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had said that the current wave of retaliation from Iran shows what they might have been able to do in the future had the attack not been carried out.
Rubio said at a press conference, “This operation was necessary because in about a year Iran will have such a large number of short-range missiles and drones that no one will be able to counter them. Look at the damage they are doing now, and this is a weakened Iran. Imagine the situation a year from now. The fact is that in a year, whoever is in power in that country, they will not have these ballistic missiles and drones with which they can threaten us. That’s the purpose of the mission.”
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi immediately responded to this statement and said that Rubio has proved that there is no threat of any kind from Iran.
He posted on Twitter, “Mr. Rubio admitted what we all knew: America has willingly launched a war in favor of Israel. There was no so-called ‘threat’ from Iran. Therefore, both American and Iranian blood has been spilled because of pro-Israel ideology. The American people deserve better and should take their country back.”
Conflict continues in the Middle East, with the Iranian leadership targeting Gulf states and US assets in the region, while the United States says the deadliest attacks by US armed forces are yet to come.
