Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) and Defense Ministry on Thursday gave official information regarding several incidents that took place in the country. Fire department teams have taken action on a total of 24 incidents from midnight to 4 pm. One of these incidents was a drone attack on a residential building in Mangaf area of South Kuwait, after which a fire broke out there. Two people suffered minor injuries in this attack and the fire department evacuated the building in time.
Drone attack and rescue in Mangaf
Kuwait Fire Force and Health Ministry have worked together in this entire incident. It is important for migrants living in and around Mangaf to know what steps have been taken to minimize the damage.
Immediately after the attack in Mangaf area, the fire brigade evacuated the entire building safely. According to the Health Ministry, two people suffered minor injuries in the attack, one of whom was sent home after treatment. Of these 24 incidents, 20 were routine fire calls and 4 cases were related to falling drone or its debris. Earlier in the morning, the fuel depot of Kuwait International Airport was also attacked, where heavy damage was reported.
Defense team’s action and security alert
Kuwait’s Air Defense has taken major steps for the security of the country. According to the Defense Ministry, many drones have been shot down in the northern and southern areas. Kuwait National Guard has shot down 8 drones in the last 24 hours. Apart from this, bomb disposal squads have responded to 172 complaints related to drone debris across the country. High alert has been imposed at Kuwait International Airport and other government institutions.
New rules for migrants and citizens
Authorities have issued necessary safety rules for all citizens and expatriates living in Kuwait. Orders have been given to immediately evacuate the building in case of fire or any attack. Use of lift is completely prohibited during emergency. The administration has appealed to the people to only rely on information from the official channels of the Kuwait Fire Force and the Ministry of Defense and not pay attention to rumours.
