Kuwait and Qatar have taken a big step in the field of media, further strengthening their old relations. Both countries have signed an important agreement on exchange of news and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. This decision was taken in the Joint Higher Committee meeting held in Kuwait, where senior leaders of both the countries stressed on increasing mutual cooperation.
What is the agreement between KUNA and QNA?
Under this agreement, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) and Qatar News Agency (QNA) will be able to use each other’s news, photos and videos without any restriction. Its objective is to ensure that correct and accurate information reaches the people of both the countries quickly.
Apart from this, both the agencies will also provide necessary support to their journalists and representatives for field reporting. This agreement is an attempt to deepen the 55-year-old diplomatic relations between the two countries, which was sealed on 8 February 2026.
How will AI be used in media?
Most emphasis has been given on modern technology in the agreement. Now AI tools will be used jointly to write news, make videos and handle old records digitally. This will speed up the work and the audience will get better quality content.
Along with this, training programs will also be run for journalists so that they can easily understand the new technology. Cyber security was also discussed during the meeting.
