A major crisis erupted in Kuwait on the morning of Friday 3 April 2026 when the country’s vital electricity and water plants were targeted. After this attack, the Ministry has immediately activated emergency protocols so that there is no interruption in the essential services provided to the public. Iran’s military IRGC had earlier blamed Israel for this attack, but later they themselves accepted responsibility for these attacks in Kuwait.
What information did the ministry and security agencies give?
Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy confirmed that the attack on the plant caused only property damage. Ministry spokesperson Fatima Abbas Johar Hayat said that technical and emergency teams have been immediately deployed. Some important points related to this incident are given below:
Plant Safety: Security officials are now monitoring areas where damage has occurred.
Attack on oil refinery: Along with the plant, the Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery was also attacked by drones, causing a fire there.
No casualties: There has been no news of any person being injured or killed in both these incidents.
Radiation status: Kuwait National Guard has rejected the rumors that there was talk of radiation spread.
Is there any major threat to supply and security?
The Kuwait government has appealed to the general public and expatriates living there not to panic and maintain peace. The government has made it clear that all necessary steps are being taken to keep the supply normal. Britain has also deployed its air defense system to help Kuwait so that such air attacks can be dealt with in future. People who are working or living in Kuwait have been advised to rely only on news coming from government sources. Due to increasing regional tension, security arrangements have been made much tighter than before.
