On March 18, 2026, security forces foiled a major attack in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and Eastern Province. Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Turki al-Malki informed that four ballistic missiles sent towards Riyadh were shot down midway. Although debris from these missiles has fallen in some parts of the capital, but according to initial reports there has been no loss of life or property.

4 ballistic missiles coming towards Riyadh were shot down. A missile was also destroyed in Al-Kharj area, whose debris fell near Prince Sultan Air Base. In Eastern Province, 6 attacking drones were destroyed in the air. A total of 21 drones and several ballistic missiles were destroyed over Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
The Saudi Defense Ministry has made it clear that any attempt to challenge the country’s security and sovereignty will be given a strong response. The air defense system has been kept on high alert to deal with every kind of threat so that the stability of the country is maintained.
