Modi met Putin; Call to end Ukraine conflict as soon as possible

Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday that humanity calls for the abolition of Ukraine struggle as soon as possible.

Modi and Putin interacted during the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO) in the Chinese port city of Tianjin.

At the beginning of his statement aired on television, Prime Minister Modi said, “We welcome all the recent efforts to bring peace to Ukraine and hope that all the concerned parties will ‘move forward’ in a creative way”.

He said that humanity calls for the conflict to be abolished as soon as possible and find ways to bring permanent peace in the area.

Modi said that India is waiting to welcome the Russian leader. Putin is going to come to India in December for the summit with Prime Minister Modi.

Modi said that India and Russia have always moved forward with shoulder to shoulder even in difficult times. He said that close relations between India and Russia are important for global peace, stability and prosperity.
