Passenger planes flying under the protection of fighter jets in UAE, police gave strict warning against making videos

Security arrangements regarding air travel in UAE have been made very stringent. According to recently surfaced videos and reports, now commercial flights are being flown under the escort of military fighter jets. From 6 March 2026, Etihad Airways and Emirates have resumed some of their limited flights, passing through ‘Safe Air Corridors’. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.

How are passengers being protected amid air strikes?

UAE Ministry of Defense (MoD) has informed that on March 5, they destroyed 6 ballistic missiles and 125 drones from Iran in the air. In view of this danger, now military jets are flying along with civilian flights. These jets have the power to kill the enemy in the air itself, so that the passengers can be kept safe.

The capacity of the air corridors has currently been kept at 48 flights per hour so that the traffic can be kept under control. Etihad and Emirates have resumed flights only in collaboration with security agencies. Military officials have clearly said that this is a precautionary measure so that the passengers can reach their destination safely.

Important warning for general public and migrants

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has issued a strict warning for residents in all areas including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. If you see any fighter jet or military activity in the sky, do not take videos or photos of it at all. Officials have said that people should not put their safety at risk by posting videos on social media, otherwise they may face legal action.

Apart from this, it has been advised to immediately take shelter in safe buildings when the siren sounds. Passengers who do not have confirmed tickets or re-booking receipt are strictly prohibited from going to the airport. Flight schedules are still subject to change, so be sure to check information before leaving home.
