Special preparations have been made in Masjid-e-Nabavi for Itikaf in the last 10 days of Ramzan in Saudi Arabia. According to the report of Saudi Press Agency (SPA), 18,000 personnel and 6,000 vehicles have been deployed for the people performing Itikaf. This year, 3,200 people have received permission for Itikaf, who are being given many types of facilities absolutely free along with Iftar and Sehri.

What facilities will be available to those performing Itikaf?
The General Authority is taking full care of the people in Masjid-e-Nabavi. People have been given kits containing things like sleeping bag, pillow and backpack.
Digital and barcoded locker facility has been provided to keep the luggage. Three health service points have been created for medical emergencies where doctors are available 24 hours. Separate places have been earmarked for women and men. Men have got a place in the Eastern Roof and women in the Eastern Extension from Gate 24. Mobile charging stations and clothes washing facilities are also being provided.
What are the special rules for Itikaf?
This year, only those people have got entry who had pre-registered through Nusuk app or government portal. Its booking was full in February itself.
To participate in I’tikaf, one must be at least 18 years of age. There is a complete ban on bringing your furniture or excessive items from outside. People will have to stay at their designated place so that the common worshipers do not face any problem. A total of 3,200 people have received permits, including 2,400 men and 800 women.
How are the preparations for health and safety?
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has deployed more than 1,000 volunteers who are providing ambulance and medical support. 3D maps and real time monitoring are being used to control the crowd.
Translation and Braille copy of the Quran is also kept for non-Arabic people. This entire arrangement started from March 9 and will continue till the sighting of the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr. This permit and all the facilities are being provided absolutely free by the government.
