There is news of relief for the expatriates and local people living in Al-Kharj area of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Civil Defense Department has officially declared the end of the threat from Al-Kharj on 16 March 2026. For this, an alert of ‘End of Danger’ (Zawaal al-Khatr) has been issued on mobile phones through the National Early Warning Platform. This step has been taken after the Defense Ministry has neutralized the air threats, due to which life in the area will now return to normal.

What are the instructions of Civil Defense after the danger alert ends?
Even after the alert is over, Saudi authorities have issued guidelines regarding security. It is mandatory for all expatriates and citizens working in Saudi to follow these rules.

Do not crowd: Gathering a crowd at any incident site or making a video there is completely prohibited due to security reasons.
stay safe: Until the danger is officially reported to be over, one has to stay away from windows and inside rooms.

Why were sirens played in Al-Kharj?
There was a threat of aerial threats in the region during the second week of March. Saudi Air Defense Forces successfully destroyed several drones and ballistic missiles in the air that targeted Prince Sultan Air Base and its surrounding areas.
