UAE President Meet: King of Jordan meets UAE President in Abu Dhabi, important discussion took place on security and peace

On 16 March 2026, a special meeting took place between UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Abdullah II of Jordan in Abu Dhabi. In this meeting, mutual relations between the two countries and the current situation in the Middle East were discussed in detail. In this meeting which took place just before Eid al-Fitr, both the leaders also congratulated each other for the peace of Arab and Islamic countries.

What important issues were discussed in the meeting

The main focus in this meeting was on maintaining security and peace in the area. The leaders of both the countries agreed that it is very important to prevent any kind of conflict from escalating in the Middle East. The need to immediately implement ceasefire in Gaza and other conflict areas was also stressed. Apart from this, it was decided that humanitarian aid should reach those trapped in war zones as soon as possible.

It was agreed to speed up the work of delivering relief material to the affected areas. There was talk on increasing cooperation between the two countries in the areas of political and economic development. The security of the region was said to be interconnected so that stability can be maintained in the future.

Two-State Solution and Future Strategy

During the meeting there was also a long discussion regarding the peace process. Both sides reiterated that the two-state solution is the strongest basis for true and lasting peace. It has been decided to maintain high-level coordination to deal with common challenges in the times to come. The meeting was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister.
