After two American soldiers and a civilian were killed in an attack in Syria, US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that his country will retaliate.
America has held the Islamic State group responsible for this attack.
“This is an ISIS attack,” the US President told reporters at the White House before leaving for the Army-Navy football game in Baltimore. He expressed condolences to the families of the three Americans killed.
Expressing concern over the attack, US President Donald Trump wrote on his social media handle, ‘We express our grief over the death of 3 great American patriots in Syria, 2 soldiers and a civilian interpreter. Similarly, we pray for the 3 injured soldiers who have just been confirmed to be okay. This was an ISIS attack on America by Syria. In a very dangerous part of Syria which is not completely under their control. Syrian President Ahmed al-Shaara is very angry and upset by this attack. There will be very serious retaliatory action.
At the same time, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted on social media, ‘Know this that if you target Americans anywhere in the world, you will spend the rest of your short anxious life knowing that America will pursue you, find you and brutally kill you.’
