Welcome the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the agreement on the first phase of President Donald Trump’s peace plan.

The Prime Minister said that this development reflects the strong leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He expressed hope that the release of the hostages and increased humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza will provide much-needed relief and pave the way for lasting peace in the region.

On Thursday, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar appreciated India’s support.

In a post on Twitter, he said, “Grateful for the efforts of the Israeli delegation and all concerned parties that led to the agreement to release all our hostages. Special thanks to President Trump. We look forward to seeing peace soon restored and free from terrorist threats. Appreciate India’s continued support!”

Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the announcement of the agreement to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages based on the proposal put forward by US President Donald Trump. He appreciated the diplomatic efforts of the US, Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye in brokering the agreement and urged all parties concerned to fully comply with the terms of the agreement.

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Ministry official spokesman Majid Al Ansari said on Thursday that all provisions and implementation mechanisms of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement have been agreed upon.

Ansari said the agreement also included the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.

In a post on X, he wrote, “Mediators have announced that tonight all provisions and implementation mechanisms for the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement have been agreed upon, which will lead to an end to the war, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and the entry of aid. Details to be announced later.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also called it a great day for Israel and said that he will call a government meeting tomorrow (Thursday), in which the agreement will be approved and all our kidnapped people will be brought back.

He thanked the Israeli military and security forces, as well as US President Donald Trump and his team “for their commitment to this sacred mission of liberating our kidnapped people.”

Hamas has issued its first public statement after US President Trump said the Palestinian group and Israel had “signed off on the first phase of our peace plan”.

According to Al Jazeera, in a post on Telegram Hamas announced the conclusion of an agreement “for the end of the war on Gaza, withdrawal from the occupied territory, the beginning of aid and the exchange of prisoners.”

The statement called on U.S. leaders, Arab mediators, and international parties to support the “occupying government.” [इज़राइल] Compel China to fully implement the requirements of the Agreement and not allow it to delay or avoid the implementation of agreed actions.”

The group concluded by saying it would “remain faithful to its pledge and will not abandon the national rights of its people, including freedom, independence and self-determination,” Al Jazeera reported.
