New Delhi. Hearing the defamation petition filed by Maharashtra IRS officer Sameer Wankhede, the Delhi High Court today issued a notice to Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited, a company owned by Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan. The court has also sought a reply from OTT platform Netflix and has given seven days time for it. The next hearing of the case will now be on October 30. Sameer Wankhede alleges that his dignity and reputation have been hurt through the web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’. This series is produced by Red Chillies and directed by Shahrukh and Gauri’s son Aryan Khan.
‘The Bads of Bollywood’ was launched on Netflix on September 18, after which Sameer Wankhede filed a defamation case of Rs 2 crore against Shahrukh and Gauri Khan. Sameer Wankhede says that in this series a person has been shown as an NCB officer who comes to raid a Bollywood party. It contains false, derogatory and incorrect facts. Wankhede has claimed in his petition that his honesty has been questioned through this show. He also told the court that after the airing of the show, many derogatory comments were made against him and his family on social media.
Earlier, during the hearing of the case, the judge of Delhi High Court had raised questions on the petition of Sameer Wankhede and asked him why this petition was filed in Delhi instead of Maharashtra. Let us tell you that Sameer Wankhede was earlier in Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau, when he raided a party and arrested Shahrukh’s son Aryan Khan from there. Sameer Wankhede had alleged that Aryan Khan had taken drugs in the party. This matter was in the news a lot.
