Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the five-day Kumaon Dwar Mahotsav organized at MB Inter College Ground in Haldwani on Monday. The Chief Minister said that Kumaon Dwar Mahotsav is not just a festival of culture but this festival is connected with our identity, our identity and our roots. The number of participants is continuously increasing every year. He said that this festival also provides a platform to our artists, gives them an opportunity to showcase their art and the work of honoring them is also done through this Kumaon Dwar Mahotsav. Congratulating the event, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to all the folk artists who performed in the festival and said that all the artists are making a very important contribution in taking forward our cultural heritage. This event is a clear proof that even in this era of technology and globalization, this festival is doing a beautiful job of connecting our coming generations with our roots. The folk artists here have also done the work of bringing the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand to the world with their hard work and dedication. The folk artists here are crossing the boundaries of Uttarakhand and going to foreign countries and showcasing the culture of Uttarakhand on the big stage of the world. He said that the Brahma Kamal cap worn by the Prime Minister of our state in the year 2026 and after that our cap has become our identity today in the entire country and the world.
The Chief Minister said that the government is continuously working to preserve and support the folk language and culture of the state. A list of folk artistes is also being prepared in the state, which is also helping in verifying the folk artistes so that they can get timely assistance. During the Corona period, financial assistance of ₹ 2000 per month was also provided to about 3200 listed artists, apart from this, monthly pension is also being provided to the artists who have dedicated their lives in the field of folk art. Under the Guru Shishya tradition, 6 month long public training workshops are also being organised, through these workshops the young generation is being made aware of the importance of our ancient culture. The state government is also providing financial assistance to folk artists which is helping in preserving and developing the culture. The government is honoring outstanding writers through Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman, Sahitya Bhushan, Life Time Achievement Award.
The Chief Minister said that this decade is the decade of Uttarakhand. This statement of the Honorable Prime Minister has filled us with energy and encouragement. If anyone becomes the pioneer to take forward this statement of the Prime Minister, it will be our mothers and sisters.
During this, the Chief Minister also appealed to everyone to imbibe the Prime Minister’s mantra of adopting Swadeshi and making the country strong and said that they should use Swadeshi as much as possible and use Swadeshi goods. In his address, he said that Kumaon Dwar Mahotsav will prove to be an important event in the direction of preserving and promoting our cultural traditions. During this, the Chief Minister also visited the stalls of local products made by women self-help groups, which is an important step towards economically empowering women. He also talked about providing financial assistance to women under “Lakhpati Didi Yojana”, due to which the women of the state are becoming self-reliant.
Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, IG Riddhima Aggarwal, SSP PS Meena, in-charge District Officer Anamika, other public representatives, folk artists and a large number of regional people were present in the program.
