New Delhi. Another major success has been achieved in the fight against Naxalism under the anti-Naxal campaign of the Central Government. Today 170 Naxalites have surrendered in Chhattisgarh. Whereas a day before, 27 Naxalites had surrendered. In Maharashtra too, yesterday 61 Naxalites decided to give up their arms and return to the mainstream. In this way, a total of 258 leftist militants have left the path of violence in the last two days. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that he appreciates the decision of all of them to give up violence and restore their faith in the Constitution of India.

A landmark day in our battle against Naxalism.

Today, 170 Naxalites have surrendered in Chhattisgarh. Yesterday 27 had laid down their arms in the state. In Maharashtra, 61 returned to the mainstream, yesterday. In total, 258 battle-hardened left-wing extremists have abjured…

The Home Minister said, it is the result of the continuous efforts of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Naxalism is taking its last breaths. Our policy against Naxalites is clear, those who want to surrender are welcome, but those who do not give up their arms will have to face strict action from our security forces. My appeal to all Naxalites is to give up their weapons and return to the mainstream.

Amit Shah said, it is a matter of great joy that Abujhmad and North Bastar of Chhattisgarh, which were once the stronghold of terrorism, have been declared completely free from Naxalite violence today. Now only sporadic Naxalites are left in South Bastar, who will soon be eliminated by our security forces. Since the formation of the BJP government in Chhattisgarh in January 2024, 2100 Naxalites have surrendered, 1785 have been arrested and 477 have been neutralised. This is a reflection of our determination to root out Naxalism before 31 March 2026.
