New Delhi, September 10 (IANS). A recent interesting incident occurred. It is related to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a recorded conversation on Hot Mike, both of them said that the whole world’s interest increased. The conversation was recorded during the Chinese Military Parade in Beijing. In this informal talks, there was talk of Lifestyle and it brought Olshasky’s principle into the discussion.

Indeed, during the conversation, Putin’s translator was heard saying, “Human organs can be constantly transplanted. The more you survive, the more young you are – and possibly immortality can also be achieved.”

With this statement coming out, the debate of life expectancy has erupted. The question is being asked whether a person can actually live up to 150 years?

There has been a historic increase in average life expectancy worldwide over the last 200 years. While the average age used to be around 30 years in the early 1800s, by 2000 it had reached 80 years in many developed countries. But recently a study came out which rejects 150 things.

Famous demographic Dr. S. Jai Olshasky, in his research published in 2024, claimed that this growth rate was now slowing down – and can stop later.

Olshasky gave the principle of red line and the main reason for the age decreasing was obese, diabetes, heart diseases and social inequality. Demographicist believes that man’s maximum lifestyle is around 120 years, and it is biologically very difficult to cross it. Average age may increase, but it is impossible to make everyone live for 120 years.

Even though we have done a better job than thinking in the health sector. Medical we have become very sound, genetic therapy and anti-aging research should be able to treat some diseases, but it has not been possible to stop aging completely.

Olshesky and other scientists believe that if the Modern Society did not rectify lifestyle, health problems and climate change issues could not be taken seriously, then lifespan may be more short in the coming time.

Scientists believe that we now have to leave the search for ‘immortality’ and focus on “healthy life” – that is, to increase healthspan, not Lifesspan!
