As the age of the body increases, many types of symptoms start appearing in it. Men often ignore fatigue, lack of sleep, snoring or sexual health problems, accepting them as just a natural process of aging. However, experts emphasize that these problems are not just everyday irritations; Rather, they can often be early warning signs of serious underlying diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels.
Dr. Jeremy London, a cardiothoracic surgeon with 25 years of experience, recently highlighted four such signs in an Instagram video—signs that men often take for granted. According to him, these symptoms could be signs of possible heart-related complications in the future.

Why should erectile dysfunction not be taken lightly?

One of the most important warning signs is erectile dysfunction. According to Dr. London, mistaking it for just another sexual health problem could be a serious mistake. In fact, the arteries responsible for erections are among the thinnest blood vessels in the body. When there is blockage or reduction in blood flow in these vessels, its effect is often first visible on the sexual health of the person. That’s why in many cases erectile dysfunction can be an early sign of heart disease—years before more obvious symptoms like chest pain or a heart attack occur. Experts recommend that if a person suddenly starts having erectile dysfunction problem, then instead of resorting to medicines only, he should get a complete heart checkup done.

Low testosterone: another important reason

Dr. London has described low levels of testosterone as another important warning sign. Many men ignore it as a natural consequence of aging; However, according to him, the reasons behind this could be increased belly fat, poor quality of sleep and lack of physical activity. If these causes are addressed and controlled in time, it is possible to restore hormonal health. Therefore, before resorting to medicines or supplements, it is important to give priority to making appropriate lifestyle changes.

When should you start prioritizing heart health?

The third warning sign is related to the fact that heart disease in men often appears at an early age. Dr. London explains that women continue to get heart protection from estrogen hormone till menopause, whereas men do not have this protective shield. This is why heart disease in men can occur about a decade earlier than women. Therefore, one should start giving priority to heart health not at the age of 60, but from the age of 30 and 40.

**Loud snoring: this is also a warning sign**

The fourth warning sign is sleep apnea. If a person snores loudly, has frequent sleep interruptions at night, or feels tired even after getting enough sleep, it may be a sign of sleep apnea. Dr London warns that this condition can lead to problems like high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat and excessive strain on the heart. The matter of concern is that a large number of men suffer from this problem, but they do not even realize it.
