Bihar Elections: In view of the Bihar Assembly elections, senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad has expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Prime Minister Modi deeply loves Bihar and its people and is completely dedicated to the development of the state.
Taunt on Tejashwi’s candidature
Speaking to IANS, Ravi Shankar Prasad took a dig at the Grand Alliance declaring Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial candidate. He said that those who talk about ‘zero tolerance’ on corruption should look back at the history of their family’s rule. Prasad termed Tejashwi’s coming forward as a good thing, but also questioned whether there is any real possibility of him winning? He claimed that the people of Bihar are ready to move forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the NDA is hopeful of a ‘decisive and authentic victory’.
Congress supported Tejashwi
On the other hand, within the grand alliance, Congress MP Tariq Anwar supported Tejashwi’s candidature. He said that Tejashwi being the CM face was just a formality, because every person with political understanding knew that the India Grand Alliance would contest the elections under his leadership. Anwar confirmed that the announcement was made in the presence of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He said that if the Grand Alliance government is formed in Bihar, then Tejashwi Yadav will have full support from the Congress and he will become the next Chief Minister.
Jungle Raj-2 warning
After Tejashwi was declared the CM face, reactions from NDA political parties have started emerging. BJP and its allies have clarified that Tejashwi does not become the Chief Minister just because of the announcement. NDA leaders have reminded the people of Bihar of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s ‘Jungle Raj’ and warned that they would never want to bring ‘Jungle Raj-2’ under the leadership of Tejashwi.
