New Delhi. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has approved the release of an advance amount of Rs 20 crore as the second installment of the Central share in the SDRF for the year 2025-26 to Nagaland to provide immediate relief assistance to the people affected by extremely heavy rainfall and floods during the South-West Monsoon. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the Central Government is fully committed to providing all possible assistance to the states affected by floods, landslides and cloudbursts. In the year 2025-26, the Central Government has already released Rs 15,554 crore to 27 states under SDRF and Rs 2,267.44 crore to 15 states under NDRF. Additionally, Rs 4,571.30 crore has been released to 21 states from State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) and Rs 372.09 crore has been released to 9 states from National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF).
The Central Government has provided all assistance including deployment of necessary NDRF teams, Army and Air Force to all the states affected by floods, landslides and cloudbursts. During the monsoon this year, a highest number of 199 NDRF teams were deployed across 30 states-UTs for rescue and relief operations.
Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah said in a statement that he approved the release of advance amount of Rs 1,950.80 crore as the second installment of the central share of SDRF to Karnataka and Maharashtra for the year 2025-26.
“Out of the total Rs 1,950.80 crore, Rs 384.40 crore has been sanctioned for Karnataka and Rs 1,566.40 crore for Maharashtra to help these states provide immediate relief assistance to the people affected by extremely heavy rainfall and floods during the south-west monsoon this year,” the statement said.
