New Delhi, November 5 (IANS). American tech company Microsoft on Wednesday announced that the company is providing in-country data processing for Microsoft 365 Copilot interactions of customers in 15 countries around the world.
The company says that by the end of this year, Microsoft will give customers in four countries the option to process Microsoft 365 copilot interactions within the country. Apart from India, these four countries include Australia, United Kingdom and Japan.
Giving further information, Microsoft has said that in the next year 2026, this feature will be introduced for eleven more countries including Canada, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United States.
The company says this feature will help customers, especially those working in government and highly regulated industries, access Microsoft 365 Copilot with an additional option for security and regulatory compliance. Copied interaction with in-country processing Under normal operations, processing takes place in data centers located within a country’s borders, giving customers more control over their data.
Additionally, in-country data processing can also improve performance by reducing latency, making the Copylate customer experience more responsive than ever before.
The company says that with the addition of in-country data processing for Microsoft 365 Copilot interactions in 15 countries, Microsoft can give its customers the option to choose the location of both AI data processing and residency, which will help in the large-scale adoption and deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot.
According to Microsoft, customers should have control over their data, no matter where they work from. From local residency to in-country processing for Microsoft 365 Copilot, the company is building a world where sovereignty and innovation go hand in hand.
