The Indian stock market got off to a bad start to the trading day on Friday, November 7, the last trading session of the week. Both the major indices started the day with a decline. BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened in the red. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 160.86 points or 0.19 per cent to 83,150.15. NSE Nifty 50 also opened in the red and closed at 25,433.80, down 75.90 points or 0.30 per cent. As of 9:25 am, the Sensex was trading 621 points lower at 82,689. Nifty 50 was trading 180 points lower at 25,328. Only five shares of the BSE basket were trading in the green, while 25 shares declined.

How was the market condition on Thursday?
The Indian stock market witnessed a decline on Thursday, November 6 with both the major benchmark indices closing in the red. The Sensex fell 148.14 points or 0.18 per cent to 83,311.01, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 87.95 points or 0.34 per cent to 25,509.70.
Among BSE stocks, Asian Paints, Reliance, Mahindra & Mahindra, TCS and Maruti were the biggest gainers. The biggest losers were Power Grid, Eternal, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank and NTPC. Nifty Smallcap, Nifty Midcap, Nifty Bank, Nifty 100 and Nifty FMCG ended the day in the red. Meanwhile, Nifty IT and Nifty Auto stocks were on the rise. On Thursday, 11 shares of BSE basket closed with gains, while 19 closed with a decline.
