New Delhi, November 15 (IANS). Some people’s skin glows even without any makeup, while some people are unable to glow even after using a lot of skincare products, because the real glow of the skin does not depend only on cream, face wash or makeup, but also on the nutrients present inside our body.
Due to lack of essential vitamins and minerals in the body, the natural glow of the skin gradually starts disappearing.
Both Ayurveda and modern science believe that to have glowing, healthy and clear skin, it is important to have the right level of balance and nutrition within the body.
Vitamin A helps in creating new skin cells. Due to its deficiency, the skin can become dry, lifeless and flaky. To overcome the deficiency of Vitamin A, it is beneficial to eat things like carrots, spinach, desi ghee, milk and sweet potatoes daily. Mixing 1-2 drops of lemon juice in lukewarm ghee and applying it on the face at night also keeps the skin soft.
Vitamin C helps in forming collagen and gives firmness and glow to the skin. Due to its deficiency the face starts looking dull. Dark spots increase and facial glow decreases. To increase it, it is considered very good to take lemon water or Amla juice on an empty stomach in the morning. Eating orange, guava, tomato and green chilli also fulfills its deficiency.
Vitamin E maintains the moisture layer of the skin. Due to its deficiency, the skin can appear dry, rough and wrinkled. To accomplish this, foods like almonds, sunflower seeds and avocado are very useful. Light massage with almond or coconut oil at night also keeps the skin soft and hydrated.
Vitamin B is considered a source of energy for the skin. Due to its deficiency, the face can look tired, withered and full of spots. This deficiency can be easily cured by regularly eating green vegetables, milk, curd, banana and sprouted grains.
Apart from this, iron also plays a big role in the glow of the skin. Due to iron deficiency, the face appears pale and lifeless because not enough oxygen reaches the skin. Consumption of beetroot, spinach, pomegranate and jaggery is beneficial for iron. Whereas zinc deficiency increases acne and swelling. Pumpkin seeds, moong and lentils are good sources of this.
Ayurveda says that the skin becomes glowing only when the digestion is strong and the blood remains pure. Therefore, taking Neem, Triphala, Manjishtha and Amla daily purifies the body internally and gives a natural glow to the face.
